Kiffin+USC=???
As most of us already know Pete Carrol (USC former coach) left So.Cal to coach at the next level in the NFL. USC in a move that almost seems out of desperation hired Tennessee’s bad boy coach Lane Kiffin who brings along his defensive game plan god of a father. The moves seems out of desperation because if we look at his history Lane Kiffin hasn’t exactly been a text book good coach. A couple years in the NFL where he led the Raiders to a not so impressive season and the University of Tennessee where he started off his career with probations and fines and a promise to beat the Florida Gators which was unfulfilled. The only reason i see behind his hiring is that his dad is an amazing defensive coordinator, BUT why couldn’t they I dont know maybe just hire his dad as a defensive coordinator and hire one of the much more suited head coach lined up for the job it just dont make sense. I have just recently noticed the awesomeness of hockey. Hockey has to be one of the greatest sports ever and this is coming from an Alabamian. Hockey is a more nonstop sport than football which leaves the commentators less time to talk about random thing like oh lets say how Mark Ingram’s dad is in jail. Back to the league the Pittsburgh Penguins are no doubt my favorite team, no not because they are the defending champs but because i just like Pittsburgh. Even though they are my favorite team and the defending champs their season isn’t going exactly how they would want it. Their star player Sydney Crosby is doin pretty good with the 2nd most goals in the league but it dont seem to help to much. Well go enjoy this sport, give it a chance i did and i dont regret a thing.
What did I tell you, Bama destroyed the previously #1 Florida Gators. Mark Ingram was a big factor in that with 118 rusing yards and 248 total yards. the Bama defense shut down Tebow and Gonzalez the 2 power houses in Florida’s offense. The Gators defensive man Brandon Spikes was also shut down and didnt do much against Mark Ingram and friends. look for Bama to beat Texas in the National Championship.
The SEC Championship which seems to produce the national champ as in LSU, Florida, Florida I mean the SEC seems to hold the title every year. For the second year in a row The #1 Florida Gators are facing the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide which is sure to be an awesome match. Yes I know Alabama barely got by Auburn but i think it was because they have some new stuff that Nick Saban didn’t want to reveal to Urban Meyer. Bama’s RB Mark Ingram will have to have a great game basically do the opposite of what he did against Auburn. The Tide’s O-Line will have to be able to block Florida’s amazing LB Brandon Spikes. Spikes is able to create a disruption in all types of plays, Spikes can stay back and disrupt the pass and the run from there OR he can line up on the outside as a DE and get to McElroy. Bama’s relentless defense will have to keep an eye on Dempse and the Chuck Norris offspring himself Tim Tebow. Tebow is no doubt the best QB in the nation despite all the “stats”. I’m not a big fan of stats because the biggest factor in a game in not told in stats HEART!!! and Tebow has an astounding amount of it. Be sure to watch this all-star match-up which im calling the true national champion ship.
WOW!!! Was my prediction for the Iron Bowl wrong! Auburn came in with heart and LED the #2 Tide for most the game till QB Greg McElroy organized what will forever be known as “The Drive” to win the game for the Tide 26-21 by completing a series of short passes to Julio Jones and the winning pass to Roy Upchurch. This was also the week of upsets, close calls, and UBER DOMINATION of the SEC. Texas and Texas A&M faced off on Thanksgiving at the home of the 12th man it what was “supposed” to be a runaway for the Longhorns who were surprised by the talent of the under-estimated Aggies who jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the first drive but would fall just shy of defeating the Longhorns. This game raised some points for the senior Heisman hopeful Colt McCoy. The southern USC South Carolina also surprised the country by spanking the Clemson Tigers 34-17. At the end of the 1st half 6 Gamecock players had rushed the ball. Dabo Sweeny’s baby ACC defense and offense was no match for the tough fast SEC defense and offense of Steve Spurier’s Gamecocks. and yet again the Notre Dame “Fighting” Irish lose this time to the Stanford Cardinals and the power Heisman hopeful RB Toby Gerhart, I think Charley Weis’ days at Notre Dame are over:/
Alright everyone knows about the Iron Bowl when Alabama kills Auburn. This year will be no different with Bama’s perfectly balanced team with McClain, Cody, and Arenas backin up the defense and while Ingram, Richardson, and Jones hold the offense. Ill admit Auburn has some good RBs with Tate and McCaleb running the ball steadily. I think the Tiger defense though will have some trouble with handling the change in RBs from Ingram to Richardson and covering the Bama receivers. Ya I’m sayin that Alabama will win but I’m not sayin that they will just murder them, Auburn might have a chance to score if they can just find that small little hole in the Bama defense.
I know I’ve already talked about Troy’s outstanding linebacker Bear Woods but I just wanted to tell yall a little bit more. Woods came to troy as a WALK ON QUARTERBACK!!! not a beast of a linebacker who eats quarterbacks for breakfast. He is the most feared defensive player on the Trojans relentless defense. On Saturday when Troy faced the basically unworthy opponent that was FAU Woods had 13 total tackles which basically made the “Owls” consider curling up in the fetal position and cry for their mommy. In my opinion Bear Woods should totally enter the draft he has the talent to possibly play in the NFL. Woods has on the year 73 total tackles with 36 total. In case you like flunked 8th grade math that is roughly 7 tackles a game which in my opinion aint to bad.

Its just a personal opinion but I think that the NBA is about the most glamor filled pro sports league maybe 2nd to the MLB. I mean they both are always complaining about something like not enough playing time or touches, those 2 leagues are like 2 leagues filled with a bunch of T.O.’s. I mean ya i know that all sports take physical exertion and I speak from experience about basketball but these people are just always complaining not that all other pro sports leagues dont complain a lot but the NBA complains more. Its a league of over sized men who can shoot a 3 or a fade from the base line but cant pass a test come on.
The Baltimore Ravens are battling the Cleveland Browns tonight on MNF. This bitter conference rivalry is sure to be a great game. The Ravens punishing defense is sure to put some beat down on the Browns struggling offense. The battle for the Browns QB job has been about 2 seasons long and this game Brady Quinn shall start in the back field. He will need to watch Ray Lewis and Ed Reed cause they are sure to cause some disruptions. Watch this game if your like me and love some hard hittin defense.
