Bengals VS. Steelers

Chargers Steelers FootballReigning NFL champs the Pittsburgh Steelers are taking on division rival the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers have seemed to struggle against practically unworthy opponents this season but if you looked at there roster you wouldn’t expect it. With star receiver Hines Ward lining up any incomplete pass could be called a pass interference because he can catch just about anything and also like i said about Julio Jones of Alabama hes a great blocking receiver. On the other side of the ball they have monster of a safety Troy Polamalu enforcing what goes down on the field. Troy has made bone crushing hit after bone crushing hit causing offensive players to fear him, but hitting isn’t his only forte he has made great interceptions like the one handed scoop in the picture Troy in arguably the best safety in the league.

Ingram 4 Heisman!!!

yeeeeeeAlabama’s sophomore running back Mark Ingram is on the fast track to be the 2nd sophomore to win the Heisman(2nd to only Tim Tebow) and his game against Mississippi State made it apparent . Ingram isn’t one of the flashy dashy  backs that is afraid to take or dish a nice lick. Ingram has juked out a good bit of opponents but he has mostly just ran them over. Ingram is the #1 RB in the SEC with 1,297 total yards but its not just the total yards that impresses me its the 85 yards after contact per game. That is what earns him my respect I mean if you can get hit by SEC defenses and still gain more and more yards that means you got guts. I say Mark Ingram should win the 2009 Heisman.

Troy VS. Florida Atlantic

bearwoods

The Troy University Trojans are taking on the Florida Atlantic owls this coming Saturday. The Trojan, Owl, rivalry has been around ever since Troy played them a couple years back in the Sun Belt Conference championship game. Like always I love me some good defense due to the fact I was defensive lineman, and Troy has got one. Leader linebacker Bear Woods is a monster on the battle field. This linebacker is a threat from everywhere, Bear can attack a team from anywhere. He’s got the speed to cover a receiver or tight end and he is anything but afraid to go in the trenches on a highspeed blitz. Troy is a well rounded team and the key players to their defeat of FAU are as follows:

  • QB Levi Brown- needs to watch the talented DB’s of FAU and make good reads and get the ball where it needs to be
  • RB Dujuan Harris- needs to stay low and find hole against the FAU physical front 7 the LB’s are good at recognizing runs and passes to he needs to be able to blow them up
  • LB Bear Woods-Ive already mentioned everything bout him but watch him in this game to blow up the FAU offense.

Alabama Crimson Tide at Mississippi State Bulldogs

The #2 Alabama Crimson Tide is visiting the Mississippi State Bulldogs this Saturday, this is sure to be a big hitting game Alabama’s defense is arguably  one of the best in the nation. Their all star linebacker Rolando Mcclain will strike fear in the Bulldog offense. Mcclain anchors the Bama defense with 35 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions. There is no doubt that the Bulldog offense will have to constantly recognize where Mcclain is. Another force on the Bama Defense is Terrence Cody a.k.a. Mount Cody. this massive man is basically the whole internal line. With Cody’s body it is almost impossible to block him as we saw in the Tennessee game with his 2 blocked field goals. It will be a massive struggle for Mississippi to run the ball inside the tackles on any down besides 3rd. On the offensive side of the ball Bama has 2 outstanding sophomores. The one with the greatest impact in running back Mark Ingram. Ingram is now sitting 1st on the Heisman poll. In 2009 alone Ingram has a total of 1,148 yards on 175 attempts with 8 touchdowns. While he stands only at a mere 5′10″ he is a dense 210 lbs. Ingram is a quick strong compact runner who can juke you out of your jock or just flatten you like a pancake. The other impact sophomore in Julio Jones. This 6′4″ receiver has amazing hands and the ability to do amazing things after the catch. Not only can Julio catch the ball but its the things he can do when he doesn’t have the ball. When he runs his routes his cuts are on a dime not an inch off but also when he knows he isn’t going to get the ball he is a great blocker which in my mind makes a great receiver. It is clear that Mississippi will have their hands full with Bama

MLS playoff game Dynamo VS. Galaxy

The Houston Dynamo and the LA Galaxy are now competing for a bid in the MLS Championship game. Prior to the blackout in the 18th minute there was 18 minutes of good physical soccer. The British Bombshell a.k.a. David Beckham and Landon Donovan have connected once or twice but have been unsuccessful in putting the ball in the back of the net. Beckham has done his fair share of trash talking in only 18 minutes. I mean I understand the trash talking (I play soccer and football myself) and I know the emotions that occur while on the field but I mean the amount he did in only 18 minutes is a little much I mean come on it hasnt even been a half yet!!! But I am definitely diggin the hair cut Beckham is rockin. The refs though are either missing obvious calls or making stupid ones. But other than those few bad things this has been a good match between 2 good teams
